A Single Man

Tom Ford's directorial debut. A Single Man seemed immaculately prepared for the audience. It tells a day in the life of a gay English professor, whose lover had died in a car accident about eight months ago.

Everything from the colours, to the set, to the haunting music (which reminds me of In The Mood For Love), to the costumes, to the precise, slow and steady way George, the title character prepares his suicide. We peep into the grey and bleak present and future of George as he gets caught up in the coloured moments of the people around him - from the family living next door, his best friend Charly, the Latino housekeeper, an aspiring gigalo Carlos, his young and curious student Kenny Potter.

I guess if you are not used to art house flicks, you might not be accumstoned to the slow pace. I suppose also that if you are not comfortable with guy on guy action, you should skip the movie too.

But otherwise, stunning reviews of the movie.

PS. Kenny Potter has the bluest eyes. So CUTE!
