Whip It - Live for the moment

The directorial debut of Drew Barrymore (I keep wanting to spell director as directeur, the French way although my French is rubbish. :( Very sad. A below average mark. Well, that's what you get when you spend the day before your French quiz going to JP for dinner, wasting time getting into fisticuffs with JW etc.).

Whip It tells the story of Bliss, a girl living in the small town of Bodeen, Texas. She's 17, about to graduate from high school with no aim in life. She allows herself to live her mother's dream of becoming a beauty pageant queen, entering pageant after pageant. She finds an interest in roller derby after watching a match in Austin, Texas.

I liked Whip It a lot.

We should all be (y)our own hero, even if it's just for a moment.
