14 Blades

This is so much better than Treasure Hunter that's for sure. Plot is a little lacking as compared to Bodyguards & Assasins.

Synopsis for 14 Blades:
A kung fu thriller set during the Ming Dynasty and centered on a secret service agent (Donnie Yen) in the emperor's court who is betrayed and then hunted by his colleagues.

I love Donnie Yen. He is awesome in his role. :) Vicky Zhao was great as usual. Although she is getting a little old. Love the fight sequences.

Did not like the very fake looking tattoos on Donnie Yen. And the stupid-looking box that Donnie Yen carries around (which houses the 14 Blades, hence the title). Not a big fan of the villian, who looked like she was channeling Medusa in a too tight corset. What's more, she screams everytime she makes a move. It's irritating. The plot was kindof stupid. It's the fight sequences that get the thumbs up from me.

Forgot to mention that Qi Yu Wu was a villian too. He played the secret service agent who betrayed Donnie Yen. His script was rather limited. And you could hear his Singapore-accented Mandarin, which kindof affected how you viewed his character. Hmmz.

JW said it's a lousy movie though. But GO DONNIE YEN!
