SECOND INTERVIEW!
I've been meaning to blog about my visit to Serangoon Central after 3 years. It's been awhile. I haven't been there much since I stopped staying with my aunt. That was around JC2. Because my parents were both working, since kindergarten, I would come back to my aunt's place at serangoon everyday after school. It's like my after school day care, where I took naps, had tea, did homework, watched tv, ate dinner and then waited for my parents to take me home. Back than, my grandma was around as well, and my hokkien was superb from the long conversations I had with the old ladies who took care of me. When I was primary 5, I finally was able to go to the Serangoon Central Macs all by myself. So that was the destinated place for celebrations. And after I went Cedar, I still hung around Serangoon Central a lot because many other Cedarians all lived around the area as well. Then when JW came along, we hung around at Serangoon Central for a bit too, cuz my aunt's place was still my after school place.
So I went back the other day for lunch at my aunt's. And I took the chance to walk by Serangoon Central again. Lots of things have changed, new shops, new coat of paint. But some things still remain the same. The Macs is still there, some old shops are still there, the layout is the same. Just walking and thinking back to all those times I spent here, that was interesting. I think we should find opportunities to reconnect with the past, so that we don't forget our roots.
Ogilvy called me for a second round of interviews. =( I don't have clothes anymore. So I'm going to go buy a pencil skirt later. Anyhow, I'm just sianned by the fact that I can't exactly concentrate on my studies yet. Till Tuesday, at least. I hope the male interviewer doesn't give me a hard time. I don't know how to prepare for a second interview already. Haiz.
