USS

Thursday was my company's retreat. And we went to Universal Studios Singapore. :) My first time there. The rides were fine for the whimp in me. Best to wear dri-fit clothes or clothes that you don't mind getting wet in, cuz there's a Jurassic Park ride that you will get soaked in. Sat on four rides - The Mummy (too short!), Jurassic Park (Awesome but stupid ride camera had to malfunction when we all synchronised our posing), Red Dragon (FUN!) and Shrek 4D (Best! Introduction a bit draggy though).

Watched two shows - WaterWorld (Lame plot but impeccable timing) and MonsterRock (The sound system wasn't clear).

Food at USS was alright lor. Had Western at Mel's Diner. Not very expensive either. $8+ for a meal.

Best part of the retreat was the shopping. My boss kindly sponsored everybody $105 in vouchers each and we all went CRAZY!!! Haha. I saw a lot of reasonably-priced, great-looking notebooks, but I had to remind myself of the pile of notebooks on my table. So I settled for a Puss in Boots cup (with Puss in Boots looking at you through endearing kitty eyes) and a USS tee for JW, a USS tee for me, a Shrek pen and a Gingy (that's the Shrek gingerbread man) head cushion. They were selling Gingy stuff toys for $13.90 only (same price that you can buy a damn chio Shrek notebook btw), but as usual I had to remind myself that I already have a million dusty stuff toys. :( Haha. Actually their gift shops are quite reasonably priced in terms of themepark gift shops and as compared to Disneyland lah.

Great place for families, especially if the kids are above ten and enjoy rides. Not sure if I will go again since one of my favorite places in USS are the gift shops. Haha. And since cuz this time everything was paid (entry cum souvenier buying cum meals - breakfast, lunch, dinner).
