Rainbow Delights
I love Saturdays! :)
Went Paradise Dynasty with the family to celebrate CWJ's birthday. Came early. But still had to wait for about half an hour. Rainbow XLBs, here we come. I love the la mian and the pork-bone infused soup. The rainbow XLBs were different, but I think I will still go back to DTF. Nothing beats the original. The skin of the rainbow XLBs were too thin. They kept splitting open, spilling precious soup. It didn't help that the staff were working at crazy speeds and didn't have time to do a good job or smile. I had to remind the staff for spoons and vinegar and ginger platters. I cannot eat XLBs without spoons or vinegar. Tried their souffle. It was good, or maybe cuz it was just piping hot. Still, I much rather prefer "watery" desserts.
Then, I trooped over to my other favorite hangout (I only have a few, PS and Ion are the other two), Vivo City with JW. Christmas decorations are up two months early. You gotta commend commercialization for quickening the pace on everything. I can't wait for Xmas in Australia. When I told JW that, the practical soul said he was not looking forward to driving on Xmas eve as there will be a lot of drink driving. -_-" See, there isn't much romance left in our relationship...
To fit in with the Halloween mood, I decided that we should watch "It's a Wonderful Afterlife", this Bollywood infused movie, made by the director of "Bend it Like Beckham". I thought it was hilarious. Cinematography wasn't excellent and the plot was a bit lame at times. But still heartwarming. :) JW fell asleep a couple of times in the movie though. -_-" So I warned you.
Dinner was at MOB, where JW ordered the Halloween set and a lot of the dishes had reddish/blood themes, as seen from the photos. I just settled for Oregano Chicken.
Because it was Halloween weekend, lots of people had on ghoulish make up and were dressed to the nines, probably for partying or what-not. Practical souls KJW and CWW went home of course, once the clock striked nine. -_-" Although, I must commend the get-up by those xiao mei mei. They look vampy hot with corsets, short fluffy skirts, lace and lots of skin. Ooh, I saw this mei mei who had a tail and horn, aka she-devil. Haha. So cute these people. Put in so much effort. :)
I love Vivo and Ion only cuz my two favorite stores are there - Pull & Bear and Zara. Bought black ballet flats at Zara (for formal events when I don't feel like wearing heels) and a tweed paper bag skirt from Pull & Bear. I mean if I have to slog for my events next week, I might as well make myself happy over new purchases. I think my mother and I are alike. Only for what I spend on clothes, shoes, bags and other new stuff, she spends on food. I can't wait to go back to Pull & Bear. I have my eye on a pair of brown velvet heels. Don't remind me about my brown velvet booties. Hahahahah. Oh, and the reason why I didn't get the brown velvet heels immediately together with the tweed skirt even though they would make a lovely combination is just cuz it's my own form of denial that I'm spending too much. :p
Trooped into the giant Watsons at Vivo and spent. :) Bought Garnier's PureActive Spot-on Roll-on (cuz I have this huge zit for the past couple of weeks, hence the lack of couple photos :(), Maybelline's Hello Kitty, Volum' Express Cat Eyes Mascara (DAMN cute. I know I don't like Hello Kitty, but still. And I know I have like three mascaras from my parents' trip to Japan, but still. And this is the comb type, so I figured I can use it to focus on the ends of my lashes) and Vichy's make-up remover (although if Hui you are reading this, I still want the BioEssence make-up remover). I love Watsons.
