PNU - the travelling

I'm in Pusan National Universtity now on summer exchange. I haven't been taking photos though, cuz it's only the first few days and I feel all chui from the travelling and cuz I'm lazy and everyone else have cameras. The travelling is something that Charissa and me are very proud of. We took a plane from Singapore to Shanghai and then transferred flight to Busan. The waiting period was about 10 hours. And Charissa and me tried to stay awake in a feeble attempt to take care of our luggage. In the meantime, we were harrassed by touts at the airport, who tried to get us to stay at their motels for the night. But at 3am, we were so damn tired that we just konked out in the airport with the rest of the China people. I felt like a beggar, sleeping on the chairs. Oh well, it was an experience, that's all I can say.

Thankfully, we managed to arrive in Busan with luggage intact. And here we are at PNU.

This is a picture of our room. It's bigger than the rooms in hall, cuz we have our own bathroom and balcony. They also have many shelves like those in Hall 3, so it's really great that I don't have to put everything on my table now. The Koreans are really really nice. They paid for our travelling fare and are always ready to help, picking us at the airport, bring us around, showing us the supermarket. I think Charissa would have more pictures. We have a buddy - Hye Ri Park. Though there are times when there are some communication problems; most of the time, it's fine. The meals are all rice and side dishes - for all three meals. I do crave sometimes for french fries. But I guess I'm getting used to the diet and anyway, it's free food. Koreans don't really have fried food, guess that's why they stay healthy and slim. And the university is built on a hill and we walk around a lot. It's really steep. X.X But the Korean girls walk around in their high heels! o_0 So far, we have had one lesson, War and Society. It's in English and seems rather interesting. But I keep dozing off. I wonder if it's cuz we have been away from school for six months. Yesterday night, they had a birthday party of sorts for one of the Singaporeans, which was really sweet of them. The birthday cake they bought had it's own matchstick envelope, which I think is ingenious. So we don't need to have a lighter or matchstick on hand. And then there was orientation, which was a more formal Korean meal with the deans and professors. Everything seems wonderful and free. Haha. Lan cable, bedsheet, blanket, pillow, aircon all free. Luckily I didn't think about lugging a heavy pillow around. And heng we got a comforter and not those thin blankets that we usually use, cuz the aircon is pretty cold and I don't know how to turn it up. Haha.

Below are photos from Charmaine's blog of Geraldine and my farewell. Byebye E. Hello Korea. Good luck Charmaine!
