Some of you may have heard from me or spotted the comment on my fb. JW and me applied for an HDB flat earlier this year. Somehow against all odds, we managed to get a BTO flat in Punggol. We went into the balloting exercise with a feeling of heng sui. After all, we were so young, after all, we planned to stay in Aljunied, after all, he was still studying... And we didn't really dig Punggol to be honest, cuz Punggol is just freaking far away. But it was better than Yishun or Boon Lay. Anyway, we went HDB yesterday to choose the unit.

FREAKING SCARY!

Especially when they calculate every single shit you have to pay for the next dunno how many gazillion months. Especially when they ask you if you wanted flooring to be done, the door to be installed (how do I know? I don't really care about tiles that much, thank you). Especially when they show you your pathetic amount of CPF - and you figure how much you have to pay in cash.

Perhaps we weren't ready after all. Perhaps we expected too much from ourselves. Perhaps, we are too young.

When the guy at the counter said that it was too bad I didn't have one year's working experience, so I couldn't get a grant, I was kindof relieved. Well, we couldn't give up on pocketing 15k from the government, right? How about we wait?

And those numbers can go right to the back of my head where they belong for now and I can continue to lead my worry-free, happy-go-lucky, rich kid lifestyle.
